8:30 AM
We'll officially kick things off as we gather for the first time all in one room together to transform our CCL programs. Welcome to DC! Welcome to the RC3 Convening!
8:45 AM
We'll figuratively (or literally if you'd like!) put on our hard hats and turn on our design thinking as we prepare to sprint. We'll review the rounds of the design sprint t and establish roles for the day.
9:15 AM
The first round of the design sprint asks us to ground our work in what we've learned from our community and in our current state of CCL programming.
We'll look at
1 . What are the strengths & constraints of our current CCL Program?
2. What community & future of work context is important to consider for our CCL Program?
3. What are we hearing from students about what they are interested in/want in their school experience?
Purpose of Round: Ground in what we’ve learned from our community to make community-driven, informed design decisions throughout the sprint.
Guiding Question: What are we holding on to today from what we’ve learned from our community?
9:38 AM
We will define what we want to focus our future CCL work on by prioritizing CCL outcomes and crafting a How Might We question to define the goal of our unique, community-driven design sprint work
Purpose of the Round: Define what we are driving toward in our CCL program by grounding in research-based CCL outcomes and naming our biggest aspirations for students.
Guiding Question: In our wildest dreams, what would be true for every student in our community?
10:25 AM
Stretch, fresh air, coffee, meet a new RC3 friend
10:40 AM
The round of the sprint asks us to get creative and dream big with ideas that respond to our How Might We question. Lots of post-it notes and big thinking here! By the end of this round, we will have envisioned a future CCL program at our selected high schools. This envisioned program will be the blueprint that we continue to iterate on throughout our RC3 experience.
11:30 AM
Enjoy the taco bar with your team or new RC3 friends

1:35 PM
This round will ask us to prioritize one of the student experiences in our future CCL program (e.g., internships, credentialing, industry-partner mentorship) and build it out. We will sketch out this experience through a variety of design thinking methods.
Purpose: Build a scrappy prototype of a signature CCL student experience that is bold and clearly tied to strong CCL outcomes.
Guiding Question: What could this transformative CCL experience actually look like for students?
2:30 PM
In this round, we will test out our big idea (our prototype) with our colleagues from other school communities in the RC3. We'll present our ideas, get feedback, and have a chance to huddle back with our teams to discuss and incorporate new ideas. We'll also hear other teams ideas and share our expertise to them.
3:20 PM
Team debrief about the design sprint process, share gratitude with their teammates, capture the learning to take into tomorrow's mini-sprints, and share feedback on a super quick survey
3:45 PM
A look ahead at tomorrow morning's inspiration school visits + an overview of this evening's (choose-your-own) Adventures in DC.
4:00 PM
